Train tickets for Easter Arrow out NOW!
« on: 09 January, 2016, 03:22:41 pm »
Virgin East Coast trains have declared that tickets are now available until the Friday 1st April. So the stampede will now start for ticets to get back after the Arrow. I have a place booked on a Cross Country train that terminates at Reading so I can go to sleep and not miss my stop

This year I will be entering a team from Reading Cycling Club!

Got mine... York to Durham. Still plenty of choices available when I looked yesterday.

God go with you, Graeme!  But in case she doesn't, I'd book something from Peterborough, too, if previous attempts count for anything!

Whenever I discuss this year's arrow with daisyhill she always interrupts to insert 'ill-fated'.

Thank you Peter.

Why from Peterborough?

Graeme has form for not completing.

I blame Mr Smith. I'm fairly sure that Graeme is far too Christian to do so.

Which booking system is recommended to get bike reservations as well?

I'm not sure there are any online systems that do it.
I hoofed it down to my local station and bought ours there, but it's a right   for those with no manned station within easy reach.

Virgin East Coast lets you reserves bike spaces online at the same time you book your tickets (It's in a tiny font down the bottom but it is there).
It didn't look at all like that in the photographs

You can book bikes on the Transpennine Express website too (assuming the service lets you - it does tell you which parts of the journey aren't bookable if there's a problem, though), and others, which use the same system, I think.

London Midland and Chiltern still use launchpad so you should be able to book bikes on those too :)
