Pleased to see the selector's eye has not fallen my way and I've been dropped.

I can now go to the ball with a clear conscience. You should be aware that there may be more traffic round Corscombe, Halstock and Yetminster than you are used to at 3am, most of whom will have been to the same festivities as me but who one hopes will be driving responsibly.

In addition, all those riding this weekend should have had an email from me with directions to Arthur's house (after Corscombe).

He has agreed to put on refreshments and provide shelter for a small charge of £2.50. Please ensure you have this with you for when you turn up.

I'm afraid m'dear that Arthur is unlikely to be that predisposed to slackjaws, ne'erdowells and/or quitters.

If you are feeling that you can't go on, it is best you wave him farewell as if bravely continuing and then go outside to curl up and cry.

Sadly, a broken collar bone ....

......means I will not be riding with you this weekend after all.

However, I will be at Winterborne Whitechurch on the grass triangle opposite the pub, to offer a warm drink and a cuddle from about 03:00am to 06:40am tomorrow morning.
