But it seems that was long before Wright joined them. My tolerance of DJ-type music programmes is virtually zero now.

Post by: CrazyEnglishTriathlete on 14 February, 2024, 06:36:28 am: That is a shock. Early in my career, driving back from client meetings, his show kept me sane on the M3 or M4 traffic. (I guess I was never that keen on the Radio 1 playlist - and there just weren't so many radio channels then).

Same here (though I do like Radcliffe & Maconie on 6music). But like it or not, I have to admit he was very good at what he did. I mean, he pretty much defined the afternoon DJ format. Maybe we can blame him for inspiring all the pale imitation wannabes.
