Turn-by-turn alarms (on a Garmin Edge 200)
« on: 18 May, 2015, 05:36:17 pm »
Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but I couldn't find the thread. Can users of the above unit
confirm that when following a course it doesn't give audible turn-by-turn alarms (whether you're following
a gpx or tcx)?

Thanks.

The 200 edge is an amazing device for the price.  I just finished a 600k in 37 hours and it beeped on every breadcrumb turn on the route.  I used a gomatic battery extender which allowed me to leave the backlight on throughout the night.  I forgot to turn it off on the drive home so it ended up running for 43 hours and was still at 100 percent charge  when I got home.  I believe this set up will get me through the entire PBP.  It does allow me to load every stage of the PBP on the device as a course.  To get the audible turn sound you must download the course as a TCX file.  This is my experience anyway.
