There's a bit in the film Amelie where Georgette is described as 'going Paris-Brest'. If I understand the dialogue correctly.

"I’d like to share a revelation that I’ve had, during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you aren’t actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with its surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply, and multiply until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You are a plague, and we... are the cure."

Great quote, Adrian. I probably would have enjoyed In Bruges even more than I did if I hadn't seen Sexy Beast first - Ralph Fiennes is a very poor substitute for Ben Kingsley. However, In Bruges does have some choice lines of its own:

- Ken, I grew up in Dublin. I love Dublin. If I grew up on a farm, and was retarded, Bruges might impress me but I didn't, so it doesn't.

- One gay beer for my gay friend, one normal beer for me because I am normal.

- An Uzi? I'm not from South Central Los Angeles. I didn't come here to shoot twenty black ten year olds in a drive-by. I want a normal gun for a normal person.

My all time favourite:

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams ... glitter in the dark near Tanhauser Gate. All those ... moments will be lost ... in time, like tears ... in rain. Time ... to die."

Roy Batty, death scene - Blade Runner

(Even more magical because Rutger Hauer (Roy Batty) wrote the line himself the night before in his trailer)

"Nobody tosses a dwarf!" - Fellowship of The Ring.

Definitely not canon, but considering the scene and nationality of the director, very funny at the time.
