Anyone else using Headspace?  I'm on Day 13 and starting to get into it but early days yet.  I did the initial FOC 10 days then signed up and after a month free trial that nice man Andy will have 70+ of my quids for a 12 month subscription.

In short I'm lovin' it.

Yes, me. Been at it for a few months now. I'm not convinced that I am seeing any benefit; but I'm only managing roughly every other day. Is it one of those things that you really have to do every day for it to work, I wonder? Or is any mindfulness better than none?
How are you finding it now, Oscar's Dad?

So I eventually gave up.  Not because Headspace is rubbish, far from it, I think for many people it will be hugely beneficial.  But like you, I wasn't really feeling the benefit.  Often Andy (Mr Headspace for those not in the know) would talk about stuff and I'd think "I already know / do that." so he was preaching to the converted really.  It was useful to know that a lot of stuff I had worked out for myself or picked up along the way was validated by Andy who I think is a top chap.

Several of my colleagues like it, but I'm tight, so I use Aware and only do the freebies. It's as good as I need to get for mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is all I'm after.

If I am honest, I prefer going for a long bike ride (something like an unchallenging DIY 200, with nice relaxed stops), and get more out of that (in terms of stress reduction).

I do get stressed but not for long.  Doing something practical and meaningful to eliminate the cause of the stress normally works.  Or something beer and / or bike related

I paid for a year when they were doing a special offer, so I will stick with it. For me it isn't so much a desire for stress relief NOW as a wish to try and alter/improve/however you want to put it my thinking in a more permanent way.

Makes sense - good luck

Question, why use a paid for app like Headspace, when meditation can be done for free and if guidance is needed there are YOU tube has loads of guided meditations for free.

Smiling Mind is my recommendation. There are several programs including a sports module. I love it.
