Baltic 1200
« on: 23 December, 2017, 10:14:21 am »
My favourite Russian audax club, Balticstar, has a very interesting 1200 next year: http://baltic1200.ru/
Starting in Kaliningrad, passing through the three Baltic countries Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and finally re entering Russia for a finish just south of St. Petersburg.
I'm strongly tempted to join, especially since I know a lot of the area which is on the menu, and this is really good cycling territory. Just rolling enough to keep it interesting, enough amenities and nice scenery.
Anyone else interested?

Labas Robertai, a participation in only one part of an event is usually impossible, you'll have to sign up for the full distance, the 1200. It'll be thea easiest way to reach the highest pre-qualification for PBP when you're based in Lithuania.

Understood, but pre-qualification should be done in year PBP, ie in 2019 or not?

Preregistration is in early 2019 based on the longest BRM ridden in 2018. Registration for PBP follows completion of a Super Randonneur series in 2019.

So you need to ride at least one ride in 2018, preferably a 1000 or 1200 and 4 rides in 2019 (200, 300, 400 and 600). The easiest thing would be to team up with Rimas and get a Lithuanian series going, otherwise you'll have to travel to Poland, Kaliningrad or Estonia for you qualifications. Kaliningrad should be the nearest but you might have to sort out your visa first.
And who knows, both LWaB and myself have a habit of riding in a lot of different countries so we  might pop over ;)

There may be a Facebook group for Randonneurs Lithuania but I don't do that sort of thing.
