I am confused.
I would like to visit Edale as my Ancestors hail from Whitmorelea.

In the interests of confusion reduction and general cat-herding, may I suggest one thread per camping weekend?  Preferably with the dates in the subject line.  Means people are less likely to miss things...

I could be up for this, reasonably flexible on dates at the moment.

It is only 10 miles from me, so almost possible to pop home for a shower  ;D

I finally got round to phoning the campsite this afternoon but I only got the answerphone. I have left a message and will try again tomorrow if I don't hear from them  :).

Anything yet. I've got a pass out. Reading the reviews they are quicker to respond to email, if that helps. :)

Don't worry, I've done this planning lark which is why I'm always happy if someone else is prepared to do it.

That's a shame canardly   :( .
I have received the following email from the campsite
The 15th weekend is no problem  please send a  £ 10 deposit for each camper with a confirmation letter to include name mobile number and number of nights. No card payments.  Cash or cheque made payable to M Seymour .it might be easier to each book individually as yacf and ask to be pitched adjacently.  :)

I don't do cheques any more!  Can't they get into the 21st century and at least give a sort code and account number?

When I was there back in June, the "office" was a bloke in a van. That was weekdays and it was pretty quiet but bloke said they get much busier at weekends. Loads of fields but only one with showers.

If you want you can PM me details / EFT funds and I'll accumulate and drop in each week...it's only a slight detour and different climb on the commute.
I'd offer you some moral support - but I have questionable morals.

I pass it every 2-3weeks on the way up Dragon Hill Road (including last night) but I doubt the guy in the van is there at 6pm.

Yes, consolidating deposits seems best.  Can we have showers, please?

I am thinking of just turning up and paying on arrival as I suspect that they are unlikely to be fully booked in September
.it's a bit of a gamble though  :(

If I'm going to cycle up I don't want to find that there is no room at the inn. If the weather is awfull I may car camp. Also I suspect we want to be together so I would be very gratefull for your efforts. If you PM me your details I will transfer some money!

Thanks in advance

Swindon is closer than Didcot, if you're coming by train.  However, fares to Swindon from the east are notoriously rapacious (because it's in the south west...just) so do compare.

Best route is Wanborough, Hinton Parva, Bishopstone, Ashbury.

I have had a call from the nice lady at the campsite this afternoon and she said that we can pay on arrival.  :). I gave her a estimate of our numbers so there should be plenty of space for us.  :)
