Tennis: R-Fed vs. Muzza [spoilers]

I'm currently listening to the Federer vs. Murray match in the Masters Cup.  Wow.  Seven match points for Murray and The Fed saved them all.  I'll say again.  Wow.

Edit: And finally it's finished.  Federer is out. 4-6, 7-6 (3), 7-5.  Federer seemed injured in the final set, was 3-0 down, but came back at Murray. Incredible.

Well assuming he can beat Davydenko in the semis.... Tho, he now seems able to re-write history because PM on Radio 4 have just reported Murray's straight sets victory against Federer

No probs...he's on a roll.  Fed. was injured though wasn't he.  I do try, but I just can't see to get particularly excited when Murray plays...

I used to feel that way, but this year has changed that for me.

The difficulty I have when watching him play is squaring 75 years of not-a-lot in UK tennis with this chap that does:
Great technical things on a tennis court.
Great things that not many other people can do.
Great things that upset the UK media because:

1) he is a Scot
2) he was misquoted on England in the World Cup
3) he is a Scot
4) he doesn't fawn to the media
5) he has messy hair
6) he is a Scot
7) whatever

8 ) He does a very good impression of a morose* CNBA teenager** (compare/contrast with, er, just about everybody else on the circuit)

9 ) He's a scot (but then again so am I!)

*to save you looking it up, synonyms include: dour, gloomy, moody, saturnine, sour, sulky, sullen, surly, blue, choleric, churlish, crusty (crusty?).

** which of course he no longer is, so when will he Just Grow Up?
