Mrs. Wow and I were watching a pair of house martins flying up and down the sea front at Westcliff.
1976 was the year we were married and this pair of unseasonal migrants were the last vestige of that wonderful summer. In no other autumn have I seen martins or swallows any later than the third week in October.
