The Airedale also has a bit of a 'reputation' with other dogs, though, especially, I think, the males. Bramble could be a beast if she took a dislike to something (she was, though, lovely with the cats and the other smaller dogs in the household). I think with any large terrier type, early socialising, a firm hand and, above all, consistent handling is a must.
Having owned a number of breeds (including a couple of border collies), the Airedale was by far the most unruly, bolshie, opinionated, arrogant, hard headed and impossible of them all. But, at the same time, the most loving, amusing, bright, fun and lovable of them all too -I would have another tomorrow (but probably won't as they wouldn't be Bramble
).
