Yes it's a shame Wales aren't playing the All Blacks.  That's the downside of the BBC deal I guess.  I'm sure they will next year.

Incidentally, I thought that South Africa's second and third tries should both gave been disallowed - the second was a classic bit of truck and trailer obstruction, with their 3 not bound to anyone but following other SA forwards in the last charge for the line, and the third was clearly offside.

Having said that I don't particularly blame the ref for missing them in the circumstances, that's rugby.

More than made up for with a great win today.  We had an 11.30 kick off and watched the match after our game, and it turned out to be a crackingly good day.

Congratulations to the Welsh. I expected a win, but that score was quite a surprise.

Well, I have to say they saved the best for last - Wales vs Australia was a fantastic game. Wales slightly unlucky but the best side won.

George North just seems to get better and better.

Amazing that the first scrum didn't come until well into the second half. Says a lot about the way both sides approached the game.

Oh, and there's a biog of Jonathan Davies on now for anyone who likes that kind of thing.

Edit: ...which is proving very interesting in light of the discussion of professionalism/commercialism in sport upthread.

... after 111yrs!  Only just found out about this after watching the highlights on YT which followed this pm's Eng:RSA match.   How much of England is down to the Eddie Jones factor I wonder.

I missed the start of the game in Cardiff, but  just  saw a lovely try by Yamada right between the posts, so an easy conversion. Half-time now, 14-13. The second half could be interesting.

Ireland - All Blacks quite a dramatic result!

Dumb question time: (I've read everything in today's paper, and everything on the internet from the last 24 hours. Yes everything.)

WHY is this double-header happening?

Phew! That was close. Disappointing, especially for Mrs B.

Have They changed the rules on downward pressure being required for a try to count?  Because if they haven't that first Scottish score should have been a scrum to Georgia.

TMO gave the try after looking at it from several angles.
Interesting that Georgia are ranked higher than Italy and want to join the 6 Nations competition.

That's been A Thing for a while. Didn't they beat Wales once - in the 1980s or some time? Or was that Romania?

*googles*

Ah - Romania beat Wales twice, both times in the 1980s. I can't find a record of Georgia ever having played Wales.

The Argentinian try in the second half just rocked my world! Good to see the side sticking to their values. Hard but silky running backs.

Yes.  It's hard to see where Australian Rugby and media will go now, in their attempts to wind up Eddie Jones.

Woo hoo.  Although some of the difference was that Scotland paid less dearly than Australia in an error strewn match, they played magnificently.
