"The day of the Trike" sounds like a good title for a thriller.
You're only as successful as your last 1200...

Thanks for the update - it will be much appreciated by your many supporters and well wishers.

Realistically, it looks like you won't be making a start on the trike phase today.

Fingers crossed you will be ready to roll sometime tomorrow.

There is at least one C5 still flitting around the streets of Cambridge.

The first and only time I saw one of these C5's was of one cycling/driving around Wolverhampton Ring Road  in the late 80s. Bearing in mind that would have been a quarter past to half past five, right in the middle of the rush hour I really though the bloke was taking his life in own hand.

At work they thought I was mad for riding a motorbike to work & back, but at least my head was above bumper level and I had the option of opening my throttle or jumping on very effective brakes.

Outside of a special event has anyone seen one on the road in recent times?

If the ICE VTX represents one end of the recumbent trike spectrum, the Sinclair C5 surely represents the other.  The rider's head height is about the only thing that isn't wrong with it.

I don't think I've *ever* seen one in the wild.  C5 that is.  I've seen a couple of Vortexes.

I spotted a C5 in the wild (well, a James Yorkston gig at the Fulford Arms in York) last year.

I've seen a couple of Vortexes.

On Pedant's corner they're probably called vortices
They laughed when I said I was going to be a stand-up comedian. They're not laughing now.

I recall going to the C5 launch event at Alexandra Palace.

Not sure why I went, just something to do on a Sunday, if I recall.

I've seen one or two C5s still used as promotional 'vehicles' by businesses.

Never seen one being used on the road.

I think Hotblack Desiato(!!!!!) used them to advertise their estate agency in the '80s.
Or maybe it was Nautilus Fitness.
Certainly it was some sort of Business based around Hampstead Garden Suburb.

Saw one at a holiday camp a few years ago - an alternative to the usual side by side novelty  cycles.
