This is the route we rode last time we followed Tomsk North on a Wednesday evening.  Rayne is at the 16km mark so around 8:10 to 8:15 is about right for the Witham peloton to arrive I would think.

OK:  Spa Rd at 7:30, for a ride to Rayne, followed by a beasting at the hands of Tomsk.

As huggy suggests, thru Great Notley Country Park and a little light COR.

Have fun folks....I won't be along for a beasting tonight. I still have nightmares about that ride last year  ;D

I reckon about 20:15 at Rayne crossroads, given that it's around 11 miles and a little C.O.R. through Notley Country Park for Withamites.

I won't be capable of a high cruising speed as 'Bernardette' is still on 68" from the 'Shark'*...[unless I bring 'Poppy', and 85" of terror  :demon:] - but I need the saddlebag for the G&Y brevet cards, so it will be the former.

* I mean training for the Shark, on a few hilly rides...wasn't that brave  ;D

Just been talking to a couple of chaps on the train. They and a bunch of their mates meet up at The Viper on a Wednesday evening and ride our area. Showed them this thread so there might be a cultural exchange in the offing very soon.

I won't be able to make Spa.  Will have to solo something local instead.  Tippers do you want me to deliver your press ?

Looks like you might be in line for some almost new bottom bracket and headset bearings as well...

? Is this related to your Domane being knackered? Are they giving you a new one?

Not so far.

We are currently in discussions about the repeated failures of the BB90 bearings.

The discussion about the failure of the drive side chainstay is stalled at the point where they are saying it was because of the derailleur punching a hole in the carbon so my fault - whether this was part of the fun and games I had a few weeks ago and whether that caused the failure or whether it was a result of the failure has not been explored.

My current intention is to use the bits I can salvage from the Domane to build up my new Condor Fratello frameset (oops) and add a nice Hope BB.

My nice summer soot bike will depend on the outcome of my discussions with Trek.

This is in no way to be considered forward planning but I would like to put in an early bid for a Witham local destination for next Wednesday, for example The Swan at Little Totham or The Compasses at Great Totham.  I am going to be in That London on Wednesday so may not make it for a 7:30 departure or at all, however a short option ride to the pub could encourage me for a little leg spin before Friday night.  (Tomsk won't mind the mileage to the far side of Witham as he's already made excuses about not riding the calendar G&YF, so that just leaves Jibbers and bobb to put in location objections  ;) )
Both pubs are probably due a visit, the linked routes are just suggestions of what has been ridden before, someone could always come up with something different.

The Compasses at Totham is the default pub before or after longer rides.

I believe the Compasses in Totham just won the CAMRA regional award for the year as well?
