That was a pleasant evening which was somewhat spoilt by a close pass on the way home which led me to swerve into a deep pothole - resulting in a pinch flat, a broken front light and a hard landing on the deck for me. Limped home by the light of a dim head torch with a painful hip  :(

Ouch! Commiserations and Get Well Soon.

That was the wettest MEMWNS ride in quite a while!

Forecast was totally out of phase, 7km in the spots of rain started, but I thought given the forecast it wasn't due for another 2-3hrs, so decided to ride through it. 2km on in West Hanninfield I am in a bus shelter puting on rain jacket. By Bicknacre I am considering turning for home, at Maldon I couldn't see the road surface and by the Swan I was fully soaked through. On the positive side it was warm not cold!
Return home was breezy but dry, however it was delayed by 6 stops to reinflate the brand new rear tyre from Boreham onwards...

Joergen

Early bid for The Wollpack Chelmsford on 5th April.  Easter beer festival CAMRA tasting night

So with next week being the School hol's Dads Taxi is being parked so I can ride  ;D

Chelmsford is probably just about do able if I don't have to be in early Thursday, but with the Arrow on Friday I wondered if any one wanted a western split ?
Its not the getting to Chelmsford, its the ride home  ::-)

Westerly is ok by me, if any out this way would prefer, but happy with the Woolpack as I will be having an easy day on Thursday.

Yes, Woolpack would be fine (he says after consulting the map to work out where it is).

Very sorry to hear that - it really enrages me! I hope you're not too sore and the bike isn't too badly damaged.

I can honestly imagine but I'll give you the well-deserved opportunity of telling me in more detail. Well done again and thank you!

The forecast doesn't look quite so awful now.

I am up for an Eastern excursion if anyone else is game ?

My evening has been acquired by other forces than just the prospect of a breezy ride.
