Have you checked your own results page? I didn't check the link above...

ETA: only 96 riders out of a entry of 400, perhaps still processing?
Regards,

Looks like there are some "issues" (to put it politely) with the results delivered by the organiser.
The validations team is 'on the case'.

email recorder(at)audax.uk if your name is missing from the provisional list.

Audax UK are on the case and have confirmed that I (and others) will be added to the results.

Sorry to say, but poor form from Islington CC.
2 years in a row they have mucked up.

two months on and results are still provisional.  Is this normal or is there a problem?  It would be good to know.

The issues are still being addressed. Apologies for any delays...

I'd offer you some moral support - but I have questionable morals.

just a gentle enquiry as to when we can expect the results to be no longer "provisional".  I may not be the only aspiring RrTtYer to be feeling a little worried.  Thanks.

Didn't want to start a new thread to ask why this isn't an audax this year?

There were issues with the organisation that has led to a parting of the ways.

Now being run under the dead hand of British Cycling and its epic rulebook, according to an emailshot I received today. Shame, but it wouldn't be too hard to put together a 200 taking in the more attractive parts of the route without having to troll through suburbia at each end.
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?

Starting in central London is one of the big attractions for me since I live there. A 40kph tow into the countryside is fantastic. Having to cycle 20k on your own through suburbia just to get to the start of a "London event" that actually begins outside the ring road isn't as fun.

Presumably anyone who wants validation can DIY the event this year?

I can understand not wanting to ride out through some grim testicle of suburbia to get to the start of an event. I frequently hop on the train for a 20 minute ride out into semi-rural Kent to avoid having to ride through the SE London/Kent borders just for my solo meanders.  However, having taken part in a few AUK events that have started in central or near-central London, including one of the Islington CC rides, I can't say that I found the experience of riding the first and last 10 miles commuter-style to be a great deal of fun.  I can do that in the week.

With a bit of tweaking, the Great Escape could be ridden from somewhere such as Epping - accessible by tube -  or Brentwood - accessible by train. Of course, that may defeat the object and the idea of getting out of the city by bike, but I think it would make for a more enjoyable day out.
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?

Rode them both last year, The Great Escape introduced me to some of Essex's more pleasant roads, definitely worth a re-visit without the hassle of dealing with some noob chain-gangs.

The Italian Job - best not go there.

All in all I felt Islington CC put on a sterling job of organising both rides and those wanting to ride under the BC banner should make the effort to do these imo.

indeed. I rode the first half of the route in December and was rather unimpressed.

Starting in central London is one of the big attractions for me since I live there.
Plans are being made for a 200k starting at midnight from the South Bank on a Friday and riding to the coast.

On the way there should be a warm and friendly village hall full of food, followed by a spin through deserted country lanes to Whitstable and then a loop around the flatter bits of Kent with a finish at a railway station.

The idea is to provide an audax for London-based riders with no faffing with traffic through the suburbs (cos it'll be the middle of the night and the roads will be empty-ish), and for the return to London there'll be no battling with heavy traffic when you've been awake all night. As it starts on a Friday night and rides to the coast, you won't be surprised to hear it'll be run by The Friday Night Ride to the Coast club. But first we need to get things in order: it'll be 2018.
Besides, it wouldn't be audacious if success were guaranteed.
