If the weather is like last time, then the following three on a loop
Riders on the storm
Here Comes the Sun
Here Comes the Rain Again

Part way through, I'll be wondering
What's going on? (although more likely Marvin Gaye than this one)

but hopefully be
Further on up the road
by that point, and overnight I'll be riding to
Chase the Morning
but as sleep deprivation kicks in it's likely that I'll
feel so extraordinary

I'll hope to
Ride on time
but may end up
Giving Up, Giving In (actually this one is one of my favourite grimping tracks)

But whatever happens, I'll end up boring everybody talking about my
Adventures on the Wheels of Steel

One of my best buys recently was a cheap MP3 player from Ebuyer that has a 70hour run time - as I only tend to listen when I'm on my own or on long overnight rides to keep myself awake (cheesy disco pop is best for that!) it is long enough for just about anything.

The Devine Comedy - In & Out Of Paris (& London but that spoils it)
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea. I am in!

For a bit of Divine Comedy, I was thinking more of http://www.youtube.com/v/H3NVPOedkEk&rel=1, though maybe it's more appropriate for the Baxter's crowd. Whether or not you're on the bus, your mental state should match Neil Hannon's by the end of PBP.

Or, in the case of Mr Larrington,

In 2007 I had HMHB's Our Tune as an ear-worm most of the way to Brest.

    YouTube
        - Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4 (with lyrics)

Waiting for the break of day
Searching for something to say
Flashing lights against the sky
Giving up I close my eyes
Sitting cross-legged on the floor
25 or 6 to 4

Staring blindly into space
Getting up to splash my face
Wanting just to stay awake
Wondering how much I can take
Should I try to do some more
25 or 6 to 4

Feeling like I ought to sleep
Spinning room is sinking deep
Searching for something to say
Waiting for the break of day
25 or 6 to 4
25 or 6 to 4

Motörhead.

Sunrise, wrong side of another day,
Sky high and six thousand miles away,
Don't know how long I've been awake,
Wound up in an amazing state,
Can't get enough,
And you know it's righteous stuff,
Goes up like prices at Christmas,
Motorhead, you can call me Motorhead, alright

Brain dead, total amnesia,
Get some mental anasthesia,
Don't move, I'll shut the door and kill the lights,
And if I can't be wrong I could be right,
All good clean fun,
Have another stick of gum,
Man, you look better already,
Motorhead, remember me now Motorhead, alright

Fourth day, five day marathon,
We're moving like a parallelogram,
Don't move, I'll shut the door and kill the lights,
I guess I'll see you all on the ice,
I should be tired,
And all I am is wired,
Ain't felt this good for an hour,
Motorhead, remember me now, Motorhead alright

It has to be The Bad Plus' http://www.youtube.com/v/I8XWMU9m4lE&rel=1 - on repeat 1, until I stop.

If the whole excursion will take me 85h to complete of which I spend 20h controlling and 65h riding that means I will listen to that song ca 1060 times...
Sadly, melancholy doesn't pay my rent.
