Garmin Communication not detected
« on: 24 November, 2013, 11:17:14 am »
I have been using Garmin Connect to upload my ride for over a year.  Now my Macbook Pro keeps telling me that Garmin Communicator is not installed.  I have reloaded it several time to no avail.  I recently upgraded to OSX Mavericks and assumed it was something to do with that but loading the communicator again and again has no effect.  Anyone else had this problem with a mac and any ideas on a fix?

Reading this reminded me that I hadn't connected my Garmin to the Mac since I upgraded to Mavericks, so off I went and connected my Edge 205 and went to Garmin Connect. Safari came up with a warning asking me confirm that I was happy to use the communicator plug-in, I did and it hen worked normally.

So, I can't help you with your problem but I can confirm that Garmin Connect does work with Mavericks. My Mac is a 2011 iMac.
I am often asked, what does YOAV stand for? It stands for Yoav On A Velo

Thanks Mr Y.  Mine is a Macbook Pro 2011 so should be OK.  I will have another go tonight.

Same problem as OP with both Win XP and Linux EasyPeasy.
Can work around it by opening Garmin and loading files manually.
