Looks like I'll be along to do the 50 with PerkyGirl, Chris & his wife.

Glad to see there are others planning the 50K, I was wondering if everyone was planning the longer rides.
This will be my first 'real' ride since all my hip problems started, I'm not even sure I'll make it round in time, but I'll still enjoy the route.

I sent of my entry for the Pitlochry 150 on Saturday only to find out minutes later that I was not getting back from Copenhagen until Safurday morning.  Bugger.

However, will be entering the Glen Isla on Sunday instead.

I'll be coming along for the Pitlochry 150, making it in to a 200km by riding to the start and back again.  So I'll not be in town on the Friday night for refreshments.  :(

I really enjoyed this ride last year.  I'd had a terrible ride the one before this, and I had a lovely day out to Pitlochry in the sunshine, so it restored my confidence somewhat.  IIRC, the ride out to the first control was fairly flat and very fast (for me).  Great scenery and a lovely route.

Have you moved house ??? You may find Larbert to Forfar and back is a bit further than 50km ;)
It didn't look at all like that in the photographs

Have you changed our social diary.  ???  You may find that plans are afoot for a wee swally on Saturday night, not Friday. So you can make it after all.  ;)

I'm planning to do Pitlochry on Saturday and then, on Sunday, we are essaying the Lintrathen 50 inna tandem stylee.
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

I was planning to do the 100 on the Sunday, but since lots of you (including CT and AP) are doing the 50 (and mindful of the fact I'll be drinking on Saturday!), I think I'll switch and do the 50, too.

so - are we sticking to the Osnaburgh? What time?

This all sounds good fun, which makes it unfortunate that I cant make it.  I'll be in Fort William doing the Jason McIntyre memorial 10 mile TT instead.

Maybe see some of you on sunday in gala.

What time can you get there?  ;)

I send Mrs eck out to work on Saturdays, so she'll need time to get home and make my tea before we get out. But 7.30 - 8ish should be ok.
And don't worry about the Osnaburgh, it'll be fine - even if Noodley is there.

EDIT: Y Lee G: 10 mile TT? Is this you honing your top-end speed for our 1575k TTT next month?  :-X

Very glad to see several folks talking about doing the 50km at a leisurely pace

GlasgowDave talked me into it.  This will be my first proper road run on (hopefully) my brand-new-first-road-bike that hasn't even arrived yet.

I am fantastically slow....Dave has to lay a trail of shot blocs (yum they taste like jelly) to bribe me up even very small hills...so I am looking forward to following well behind the pack and trying not to get too badly lost  ;D

Don't forget your other task on Saturday is to rendezvous in the Osnaburgh for a between ride hydration session.

I've not managed to get a pass for this one, but I have been allowed to come out an play for the Deeside Loop on 17 May.  For that, I'm going to take the train to Dundee on the Saturday, cycle up to Forfar and then camp at the lochside campsite.

Don't worry, that's what I'm really going for - the cycling is just the bit I do while the Osnaburgh is closed.

It's a nice campsite. And when I was planning to cycle/ train there, I was going to ride from Carnoustie - might be a simpler route, with no city to navigate?

I've done the ride from Dundee to Forfar a couple of times.  The city navigation isn't actually that bad and the back-road to Forfar is a nice wee 15 miler.

AndyPandy and I will be there, but then Ariadne's already told you that....

Looks like you'll just need to be doing some gentle pub persuasion during the trip up to Pitlochry.

No pub for me  :(

I'll be seeing my dad on the Saturday night for a couple of sociable "in the house drinks" when I'm back home in sunny Forfar.
