Highest Village 120km 1AAA

Anyone planning on doing this ride next week?  Mr AAA Noodley had expressed an interest.  I may make a late entry.

I hadn't noticed that one in the diary. Is he accepting entries on the line? I might be allowed out...

It was an "addition" to the hard copy published events.
There is an e-mail and phone number for the organiser on the AUK site.

I'm tempted, but I've the 10 under the Ben on Saturday, it's one of those new fangled mountain bike races.

TBH, I'd rather do the Audax, are they accepting entries on the line?

Oh no, you don't want to get involved in any of that nonsense. Burn your mountain bike immeadiately before it's too late :P ;)
It didn't look at all like that in the photographs

I've emailed the organised and he is accepting entries on the line (thanks Noodley). I now have no excuses left and will therefore be participating in this little excursion.

Glasgow Dave was just looking for excuses to get out of his Mountain Bike race - he's now playing the "need to spend time with the girlfriend" card and is wimping out of both the race and the audax.

I've just found out that my wife is working next Sunday, which frees me up to do this ride.  does anyone have a routesheet that they could email, or a bikely route - i'd need to load up the route into my gps.

Noodley, after speaking to you on Saturday, I couldn't let the AAA point slip past me.  I can add it to my collection of 3 and a quarter that I have inexplicitly pick up this month!

I'm only wimping out of the race, I want to do the audax.

going round in circles in a midge infested mud fest below Ben Nevis just isn't my idea of fun.

Unfortunately, 2000m+ in 120k is. Is there something wrong here?

I hope to be there, but don't have the use of the car on Sundays at the moment.  Stra'ven's a bit far to ride to the start for me, but I'm sure I could manage as far as Borrowstouness "Ah-Hem" "Ah-Hem"  ;)

...where there will be a car waiting. PM me if you want a lift so we can work out times - I might be picking up in Linlithgow as well.

What a friendly place this is!  ;D  You're offers are greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you would you have space for me Valkyrie? 2 bikes on roof, one in back = 2 seats for you and passenger?  :-\

Mr AAA Noodley OTOH should be passing within a couple of miles of chez McB  ;)

Let me know what you decide.

No.   ;D

Seriously, I can't as I do not know how to - Noodley Jnr scanned it for me and I saved it.  I could send you it by e-mail if you want.

I've got the routesheet, and I've plotted it into tracklogs.

I can convert the gps file if anyone wants a copy.

I no longer able to do this one but I hope you all have a great day out.  If the weather is anything like today, it'll be lovely.

Ah, I see you go through Sanquhar.
I once did Mr Applebag's 300 perm that goes through Sanquhar twice, on the way out to the south west, then on the way back to Lanark.
I controlled at the filling station on the way out, and it seemed to make sense to use the same place on the return.

It was the same lady who attended to me on my second visit.
Filling Station Lady: "So where've ye been son?"
Me: "Oh, over to Maybole then down to Newton Stewart."
FSL, calling through to the back shop: "Haw Wullie, come here an' see this: there's a boy here an' he's been a' the wey tae Newton Stewart an' back again the day - on a f*ing push-bike."

 ;D
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.
