Garmin Edge in the washing machine

Don't know if I should really be posting this in the 'On the Road' DOTD thread but yesterday went looking for my trusty two year old Edge 200 to get ready for this mornings ride. Couldn't find it anywhere, then remembered that I had probably left it in my commuting shorts that had just been washed by the wife :o. Found the shorts on the drying rack and felt the Garmin in the side pocket. Got it out and with a sinking feeling in my stomach and no real hope pressed the on button. 'Bleep' On it came just as normal! Looked a bit cleaner but otherwise no ill effects. Went out and did a 100km run with no problems as if nothing had happened.
Hats off to Garmin  It had gone through a full 30deg.C wash cycle followed by a 1400rpm spin.  No need to worry about a few showers out on the road now

A friend of mine had a similar experience with a forerunner watch - pretty impervious

And now you'll know the precise location of your washing machine.  :D
