I looked more closely at the last pic Tim, and saw there was some muck on the window. Cleaned it off, and here's the astonishing result. Lucky chap.

Certainly never seen cycling south of Sussex

We do tend to spread out rather a lot when cooking outdoors.  :-[

Last weekend:

The tent is not an awning as such but a "day room". We've had it a while but it's only ever been used once before and that was to provide cover for my mitre saw outside :-[.

Conkers Caravan and Camping site. Lovely site, just needed to be there longer! Conkers is just around the courner, a very short walk away. So, if you have children and want to make a few days of going to Conkers and doing a few walks then i can really reccomend it. Theres a few places close by aswell.
Oh, and smaller tent i got cheap from work

^^ Your number plate is on page 14  ;)

Why, out of interest, do you have your forum name in the window?  Is it a rally?

my nameplate just sits there really. Its a name on a few different forums, 1gear also has another meaning to it and if anyone is behind me they often find out what it means ;)
A rally? I dont think so, i wouldnt be seen dead at one of those thank you  ;D ;D

Test pitching of my new Gelert Solo in the garden:

Bought specifically for cycle camping purposes (weighs about 1.6kg, packs up very small) but not sure when I'll get to use it - maybe for the On-Offshore 200 in September.

It's very cosy.

This year one should always be seen with a colour co-ordinated tent and bike

When selecting a tent - never mind the weight.....are the pockets large enough for a kindle?

Did you need a mallet to get the pegs into that ground, Jen?  :o

It wasn't as bad as it looks - just a bit of pressure from my cycle shoe clad foot.

Black diamond MegaLite. Fly only, one pole (or you can hang it from the loop on top), stakes out with 4-8 pegs depending on how secure you want it, floor available at extra cost.

Without the floor.

With optional floor. The floor is a bathtub style to keep water out. You can also detach one side of the floor and roll it up to cook on bare ground, or have a boot/shoe storage area, or whatever. I have also used a sheet of polythene on one side of the tent if I wanted to save weight.

Looking at the size of that Kindle, have you considered glasses for reading?
It is simpler than it looks.

I can't help thinking that that tent is going to tiptoe out from between the trees, and then freeze again when someone looks...
