Title: Brompton brake pads

What's a good, non-dissolving replacement pad that fits in the stock holder?

Salmon Kool Stops used to stop mine before I put the silly wheels onto it.

I might need to check this but I *think* they’re standard Shimano road compatible.

And if that’s the case, then Swissstop BXP Pro are always my brake pad of choice.

But it seems they also do a “Brompton specific” version of the pads, if you fancy paying more for the branding.

(This page seems to confirm they are standard Shimano road compatible)

I think the current pads are actually Swisstop BXP Pro - as far as I can tell these were standard on the black editions. They are decent stoppers but create a lot of mess.

They didn't seem to make much of a difference to the braking performance (possibly marginally better in the wet?), but they seem much less inclined to chew up the rims than the stock ones.

IIRC they were standard Shimano road pads.

I seem to remember experimenting with some spendy Swisstops with one of my road bikes - most likely the Van Nic - and finding them to be the pads of disappointment, and reverting back to the less spendy Kool Stops.
