mac-friendly camcorder?
« on: 19 September, 2012, 01:59:07 pm »
Any recommendations for a camcorder that is compatible with Mac i-Movie?  I've tried a couple of Sony models that were recommended by (of all people) staff in the Apple store but neither actually worked (one simply would not communicate with the Mac; the other would export to I-photo but wouldn't recongnise i-movie).

I don't want to do anything particularly clever - just record family stuff, holidays, etc and be able to delete the dross.
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?

I have a Panasonic HDC-SD90

Great little camera, and works fine with iMovie and FCP.
It is simpler than it looks.

As a general thing with Mac peripherals, run software update after you first plug them in.
