I think I can thank/blame her for early introductions to the likes of Frank Zappa, Sparks and Napoleon XIV via the Sunday Afternoon Request Show.

A sad loss.
My most vivid memory of her on the radio was hearing of the release of Nelson Mandela, while I was in the bath. The announcement was followed by the Special AKA.
