Missing countries on Garmin Touring

Garmin Touring with stock Garmin maps and Open Fiets enabled.

When I search (from UK) for Spain or Belgium, nothing comes up. I know the maps are there, as it works fine (in Garmin terms) with Ride with GPS routes.
I'm trying to store in advance the places I'm staying as Saved Places so that I can get back if I go wandering.

Sorry if this is a silly question but how exactly are you going about searching for an address in these countries? Are you selecting the country first, then the city/postcode? Is it not finding the city or the street?
The Garmin's software can be quite fussy about how the address is entered.

What I have tended to do is to find the location's co-ordinates on a computer using google or the place's website and find out the post code which I then enter into the Garmin's search function.
