Track converter software...
« on: 06 April, 2017, 10:32:59 pm »
I was using winGDB3 on Windows 7, mainly to convert tracks to <500pts.  Last software update (v3.7) was many years ago.  Anyone know if this works on Win10?  What do people use?

Depends on what you want to do. I think its easiest to do most track/route editing in BaseCamp. I think it can now do most stuff that WinGDB does. eg simplify tracks, or convert tracks to routes / routes to tracks.

GPSBabel is also handy for converting obscure formats.

Wingdb works fine on win10, which I use alongside map source.

Thanks both.  Didn't realise one could reduce tkpts on basecamp (right click on track > filter selected) - not installed mapsource on this Win10 machine yet.
