Saw several swallows 5 mins ago. Been outside all day without seeing any so I'd say they've just made it.

Yep - if you've seen more than just the one swallow, that should be summer!

I've seen a swallow two days running. Trouble is, yesterday's was within about 5 seconds' flying time of Wednesday's, so it could easily have been the same bird.

And this morning the first cuckoo. Rather early, I think. In this part of France it's usually pretty much in sync with the UK, possibly due to the altitude.

First swallow here in Fishguard harbour this morning
(well, Goodwick Moor really, where they can pick off the flies).
I knew I'd see one today ... a day of coruscating beauty ...
