Sensible move WB.

Where are you catching the train to?   Anybody who might want to disembark at Rugby could pop in to the Bear-o-drome and I'd happily arrange to accompany them en velo to Long Itch.

The wind is quite strong and north easterly here today and for the next few days according to the forecast.   Last stretch of the ride on Saturday will therefore be into a head wind.

I may end up unable to cycle, depends what happens with my arms, I pranged both of them badly on a train yesterday. Eating diclofenac and trying not to worsen them, but I have a complicated job interview on Friday morning which might involve lots of typing and pushing through it for the longer term gain.

I say "Will be there" with the caveat "Iff'n I don't get lost in furrin places"!

Printers out of action so I might have to purchase a suitable paper route atlas.

Put my phone number into your phone and call if you get lost.   We will have paper atlas thingy with us on Friday and hopefully will be able to guide you in.

Alternatively, put your very sensitive doggie hooter into the air and sniff out the bullshit, er I mean the chip van.   :-[   :D

He's also broken a pannier hook on his Oxford waterproof panniers.   If anybody who is coming has such a thing (I think that it might be this) and can spare it for the cause could you please bung it in a bag.

Unexpectedly the sun has arrived today and looks set to be here tomorrow as well.   Perhaps we're in for better than anticipated weather this weekend. after all.

Provisional ride route for Saturday,

There is a tea and loo stop opportunity just before Fenny Compton and lunch is at The Pavilion in Lighthorne.  I'm expecting us to arrive for lunch between 13:00 and 14:00 pending pace of the group.

and, the short hop down from Long Itch for anybody not wanting to do a longer ride but wishing to join us for lunch.

My bad: the short hop is 14kms not 10.  Sorry.    :-[

It would be very helpful if folk could let me know if they are riding and/or lunching please, especially the later so that I can let Lighthorne Pavilion know approximate numbers.    Thanks.

No takers for ride and lunch on Saturday then?   :)

Right.  We are thinking thusly:  Clarion & Duck riding short route to lunch; Butterfly riding back.  Motorised transport swap in between.

A longer ride last weekend ended up with a sleepy Duck, and I don't want to risk that again. :\

Given that there appears to be some motorised lunch transport, would those considering driving to meet the peloton for lunch be willing to take the odd passenger?

I chose my words deliberately ...    :D

I've just found out that Long Itch is only 87km from here via NCN41. Riding out for lunch sounds fun, I'll have to read back through the thread and work out if it's doable.
