car loan from Bank and registration of new car
« on: 16 October, 2017, 06:20:35 am »
We are taking a car loan from the Bank for our new car.

It is a brand new car so unregistered at this point.

We have a personal plate

The bank say that they need the VIN and they need to know its "proper" registration number.

Is there any way to get this without doing a full registration and then transferring our personal plate onto it which means waiting for the V5C to arrive from Swansea?

Thank you

The bank don't know what they're talking about. The car won't have a registration number until its registered (obv) which will be your personal number. It will have no other "proper" registration number (I assume they're referring to a year specific one).

As to the VIN, the dealer will have it or be able to get it from the factory.

As to why the bank wants this info, I have no idea as I've never been asked it.
I am often asked, what does YOAV stand for? It stands for Yoav On A Velo
