Your last two Instagram ones particularly impressed me, and I just thought, that Charlotte has got "it", whatever "it" is... Not about equipment, although the right equipment is obviously necessary.
For me, my weak points are about managing lighting, usually off camera "normal" flashguns, and actually posing and interacting with the model, which in my case is usually just a friend who happens to strike a pose I like, inspiring me to photograph it. There are several people I know that I'd like to take portrraits of because they are interesting, but I need a bit more confidence to carry it off.
My normal equipment is a Sony A77 (APS-C) and a couple of Metz flashguns including a dear old 45CLI, but I rarely use the flash because I'm not good with them.
Locatino is achievable, although I don't actually know where Perivale is. Timing, well I can always take a day off work, but I don't work Fridays anyway.
