[HAMR] Where's your Marsh Gibbon?
« on: 02 February, 2015, 07:10:20 pm »
On the basis that it's a town/village/interesting place that you ride your bike through frequently, but it cannot be the place where you live. Urban cyclists, feel free to investigate districts and street names - use your imagination.

By coincidence, mine also has a daft name - I've had a quick skeg at my cycling for this year, and though Manfield, Coatham Mundeville and Sadberge all do well, I reckon the clear winner is...

*drumroll*

Merrybent!

Skrødstrup, Jutland. It's not the centre of the universe.

To say it correctly, you need to have your whole dinner in your mouth.

Wythall :(

(Basil informs me that it's pronouced "with-all" not "why-thall".  I prefer to say it "endless gentle climb when you're knackered at the end of every long ride")

There's a short street in Ashton Keynes called "Happy Land", which always makes me giggle when I pass it.

Eibersburen [Stork's burroughs], a weirdly high bridge over a canal in the north of the Netherlands. With hairpins on either side. It's 1 km from A to B. Or vice versa.

The Butt of Lewis is not somewhere I visit regularly, but it is on a lot of my DIY routes.

I used to have a soft spot for Freezywater.  Especially in conjunction with ice-melting equipment from a bottle labelled "Johnnie Walker".
