Assassin (Mark) is sitting beside me dictating progress so far. Jane went through Exeter at about 1500, up on schedule and is currently nearing Bristol, having covered 164 miles in the first 12 hrs.

She is due to complete Land's End to Bristol (one target en route) tonight.

Two vehicles still supporting. The third will be back on the road tomorrow sometime.

I saw her at 02:15 in Worcester (255 miles).  The night was clear, a pleasant temperature for riding, and with a gentle tail wind in her direction.

Left Stafford half an hour ago after food and a 45 min rest, apparently.

I think 12hr was around 360.

She is somewhere around Dalwhinnie now.

Trying to cross reference between the progress reports and the published schedule, it looks like at 12 hours she was just beyond Bristol (c190/200 miles) and at 24 hours she was a bit before Stafford (c320 miles).

RRA standards are respectively 205 and 360 miles. (Where there is no current record, does an attempt have to beat the standard to be recorded?)

Yes, that's about right. There seems to be disagreement about whether the standards have to be beaten. They do appear to be inconsistent (e.g. Mark says the 1000 miles is faster than the End to End.)

LEJoG standard is 4d 12h (108h, requires a little under 8mph overall for 848 miles) while 1000 miles is 5 days (120h, 8.33 mph). As you say, a curious inconsistency.
