I think it's bridleway after the tarmac road runs out. "Motts Road" appears to be ye Ancient Byway designation.
(It certainly looks less steep than climbing Burway Road!)

Not impossible - certainly had others riding whilst I've been rambling; it can be busy until you reach the top, so pick your times.
