Mildenhall Rally: Who is attending?
« on: 23 June, 2008, 08:53:18 pm »
I am giving serious consideration to going this year.In the past I have dismissed the idea due to not wishing to drag the caravan along the A14.
This year I am feeling less negative about that necessity & may book a pitch.

I shall be there.  Going to book a pitch shortly as hoping for a similar spot to last year, backing onto an open field and not surrounded by tents from every angle.

Doing the 200 with someone else I hope.

Went last year and it was excellent. Glorious weather, great company and huge volumes of Stella helped  :P

I hadn't had so much fun in years!  :)

Annie - I want to book as soon as possible, can we try and get everyone together rather than being scattered around?
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

Yes I guess that will be fine Bobb but we would need to send off our entry forms together.  I know that Rich is planning on taking his extra large tent along.  I am not being funny but would like to sleep in my own tent.  So we could still hopefully all get together, last year I was on the field at the back.  That way it means we wouldn't disturb too many people as we would be backing onto a field one side.

Does that make any sense?

Karaoke and audaxing and socialising.  I am not going up that tower again though >:(

The only way guaranteed to get you all together in one spot is to have someone make all the bookings in one go for the group. We had a late entrant last year, only two days later with his post, and he was put in the overflow field.
The Fell Club seems to have this down to a fine art and last year they ended up on the corner of the main field near the long jump run.

I live 15 miles away from Mildenhall, so I'll ride over each day, or bring a car full of silly bikes for you all to try out. I can provide emergency tents, sleeping bags etc. if anybody  needs them and we have a spare room (maybe two) if anybody doesn't like sleeping under canvas.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is...

Ok.  Shall I nominate myself to do this.  I am home a fair bit and could make the time.  Put your hands up if you want me to be in charge?

If so could I have a list of those that are certain they want to go and then they could send me the entry form with their cheque in the post.  The enty form can be filled in on the computer, all you then have to do is print it off, sign it and enclose a cheque.  What could be easier?

Details can be found here

I will pop out to the car to see where I was pitched last year.  I am sure it would be possible to ensure you are next to everyone else, should you wish that to be the case.

I should be there - riding the 300 on the Saturday and wondering if I can then ride a DIY 200 home on BH Monday with camping gear on my fix.  I'll try to avoid (most of) the Stella. :-\

A lot of talk about who was going to Mildenhall at York this weekend.
I'm still not sure about the big tent yet, if others think it is a good idea I'll take it but I've got smaller ones also.
You only doing the 200 Annie, I thought you'd be up for the 300. Good training for Steve's flatish 600 in Sept' and LEL next year  ;)  ;D

Rich.

I'll probably ride across on the sunday to see you all after your audax adventures, it's a nice 200 from here and back.

I'm hoping to come.  I'll have to be extra nice to Mr R over the next few weeks to get a pass (the things I do for you lot...)
