I think my poo clock uses TFL minutes or Windows minutes or something.

What's that, unpredictable?

Indeed.  Timings generally optimised for inconvenience, though.

mine did, until codeine.  Predictable, but on a slower timescale

CO detector started bleeping 'Low Battery' at sparrowfart o'clock.

It supposedly had a 10 year lithium battery.

David said it read 9.75V on our multimeter.

A new battery stopped the bleeping...

The great thing about battery voltage in the kitchen at sparrowfart is that it's several fractions of a vole lower than it is on your bench at awake-enough-to-deal-with-lithium-batteries o'clock.  (DAHIKT)

One day alarm molishers will work this out.

David asked me if he should investigate the battery further.
I said not.
He repeated the question and when I suggested maybe later, he was angry I'd changed my mind.
I said not again...

Dear Affinity Water,

You may think stopping our water supply between 2am and 3am is a perfectly fine thing to do.

I would not have minded if you had the courtesy to warn us of this in advance.

It is most disturbing to find no water forthcoming from taps and the toilet cistern failing to refill after flushing.

Our nice new plumbing means we have no reserve tanks whatever in the house when this happens.

My long-suffering partner fetched a bucket of water from our rainwater butt and now bemoans this was unnecessary.

I am most unimpressed.

Yours etc

Found a bike frame, with a bike register number, and emailed bike register to confirm that the frame was dumped and not stolen.

After several emails the person has gone quiet after emailing that they wanted the frame back but could only collect after christmas.  Then nothing.

So frame is now going to the police station for them to deal with.  Feel like my time has been wasted trying to help someone.

The monthly ritual of taking the inserts out of all the medications I take and throwing them away unread. It’s bad enough that all the tablets are blister packed, though I understand the motivation for that, but including the same instructions in every pack is a waste of resources, and if anything changed, I’d not know because Ive never read the damn things since the first time I got the meds.
For every complex problem in the world, there is a simple and easily understood solution that’s wrong.

I read the inserts from time to time, usually when travelling or visiting a place which states they wish to see my medication. (Syringes which ought to be refrigerated and are only used three times per week don't accompany their box or insert unless necessary.)

I even read the insert in the Canesten cream box I opened last week. The tube replaces one with a 2005 expiry on the crimp...

One of my meds comes in a wee plastic bottle with a childproof push-down-and-turn cap that doesn't work: if I push down hard enough for the ratchet in the cap to catch the bottle crumples to almost breaking point. To remove the cap without violence I have to use a not very childproof scalpel.

I'm also bemused by the fact that half the meds are in boxes of 30 and some in 28s. One or the other would keep things in sync, but that'd be too user-friendly for the Social Security to want to set it up.

My Rebif comes in a 28 day pack, which means 13 packs per year.

Each pack is delivered individually by van by the suppliers, which is neither green nor convenient.

Some of mine are from the future. I know this is so as the said webcam hasn't yet been bought. By the time it is, I'll be too old to 'enjoy' porn - oh, hang on a minute!  :(

I know Sainsbury's sell some of these.
I enter 'mouse' into the Search box and get HUNDREDS of hits for 'mousse', from chocolate mousse to shaving foam.
'Computer mouse' gives more sensible results but...
