Inbred Seat Stay Bosses

Can anyone tell me what these bosses might be for?
Most of the stuff I say is true because I saw it in a dream and I don't have the presence of mind to make up lies when I'm asleep.   Bryan Andreas

I'd assume brakes.

Yes. I assume for two different wheel sizes but possibly a custom mounting for a single wheel size.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

They allow you to fit something like this: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/brakes/thorn-club-tour-mk4-bolton-brake-boss/ so you can use V-brakes/cantis.

Is it a 29er or a 26er?  As it could be, as others have said, brake bosses.

Neither of my 26er inbreds have that.

Thanks all I did think they might be brake related but couldn't work out how the arrangement would work. Curiosity now satisfied it's time to fettle some rear light brackets to make use of these bosses
