Some one else please.

I'll jump in if Basil still doesn't have a question - a quick and easy one, inspired by remarks in another thread, so googling shouldn't even be necessary...

"I'm sitting in the railway station, got a ticket for my destination..."

Which station? (I'll accept the "official" answer, even though it is disputed.)

Nope. I guess it's one of those "easy if you know the answer" questions.

I'm not going to answer, cause I don't have a question, and am about to disappear to do some interviewing.

But I have been on that station (official version).
Getting there...

Yes, it was Widnes. Strictly, he wrote it at Ditton, which used to be the other station in Widnes until it closed, but the commemorative plaque is at Widnes station.

I know the answer to that one but I'll let someone else take it cos I've just had a go. I will just point out, though, that "joint effort" is perhaps being generous to Art Garfunkel. I thought Simon wrote it and gave it to him cos he thought it would suit his voice?

Just realised that I'm probably thinking of the wrong song anyway - it's not American Tune, is it? I don't think Art Garfunkel ever released that on any of his solo records.

But the reason for saying it's generous to call it a joint effort is that Paul Simon was always the songwriter in that partnership, Art Garfunkel just turned up and sang.

With the "shite" clue, I'd say Cecilia.

no; it was made while they were officially split and did not appear on a joint album (at the time of release)
