OK, here we go. Brian Alliss is a golfer. Sean Connery is a big golf addict so chances are they have played together at some point. Sean Connery played James Bond. Paul McCartney wrote the theme to one of the Bond films (Live and let Die) although that starred Roger Moore, who probably also plays golf.  And Paul McCartney has a farm in Scotland where there are lots of golf courses. And when Ringo Starr bought his house overlooking Wentworth Golf Club the club was asked if they would let him be a member and said no to which he retorted that he wasn't interested in playing golf.  And both Alliss and McCartney have probably been on the Parkinson show at some time. And they both support animal charities.

AM I GETTING ANY CLOSER???

Gewgle suggests a tenuous Southport connection.

Henry Cotton holds the course record at Hesketh Golf Club
Peter Alliss designed a course in the area
Macca went to Butlins Southport.

Can't manage better than that, I'm afraid.
