Apologies if this is covered elsewhere - I couldn't find the answer.
I have the SKS type chromoplastic guards on my 20/26 recumbent ( A Performer) running Marathon Racers, and not over-inflated to give me a slightly less harsh ride.
I seem to break a stay bracket every year, and I'm running out of old guards to scavenge for spare brackets. Anyone know if there's a bracket separately available that will do the job?
The part I need is the stainless strip that curves across the inside of the guard, bolts or rivets onto the guard and provides the mounts for the bolts that hold the stays at the edge of the guard.
It's the rear that always breaks, and I have three stays either side, so it's not the guard thrashing about excessively, but metal fatigue arising from vibrations from riding on the rural cart tracks that masquerade as the surfaced and classified roads that I've paid income tax over the years to help provide.
I'm handy at fabricating GRP parts for my model aeroplanes, so may have to resort to that if no-one knows of a solution.
