Great black-back, indeed. Leg colour and extent of white on wingtip gives it away. I would also say that is a female goldfinch. It's how far the red goes back behind and above the eye.

For those unaware, the very apt collective noun for them is 'a charm'.

A rubbish Camera phone shot. This is one of the Magpie family that lives around our back garden, they've worked out how to drink out of the Rabbit's water bottle. This one is looking a bit disappointed I put the bottle up too high after I changed the water earlier.
