I trust you read the recent article about a bear encounter in Arrivee?

I did, but I was puzzled why he didn't just jump into the car rather than dancing around it.

The do have brown bears in France now after they were reintroduced in recent years.   Not a huge number though.

I'm sure you could find them if you went looking. Having said that, I spent a week in Sweden a couple of years ago 'bear tracking'. Despite spending hours at vantage points overlooking valleys, we only saw moose and reindeer. Saw tell-tale signs of the bear's presence, but I think they kept one step ahead of us.

Calendar is 'bear' next Wednesday. How about visiting Three Elms in Chignal St James? They have completed their refurbishment, and jazz was this week so should be quiet next week.

Anybody would think everybody has been out riding their bikes. In which case, there must be some war stories to share. Are we in agreement for the above venue for this Wednesday?

The three elms gets my vote. I may ride there direct, depending on nursing duties.

I'm presently sans velo and away with work. Hoping both will be resolved in time for G&Y Fields Friday night...

Do you need to view my midge hat on Wednesday?

That would be useful, yes please. Shall I bring some soup or a chocolate eclair for the demo?

Forward planning calendar is 'bear' again this Wednesday.

How about The White Hart in Stebbing? They brew their own beer and food has a 5 star hygiene rating!

Discussion on Saturday pointed to The Compasses LG - can add The White Hart in to the list of places when I get round to the calendar again..... ?

As much as my legs want to venture out for the evening I have overruled them with an executive decision to be staying at home this evening. It will also give me an opportunity to catch up on some G&YF admin stuff.

I wonder if Huggy will use this excuse again this week ...

I am indeed unfortunately in London this evening doing a meet & greet with the newly extended IT Crowd since we acquired a new company.  Will be trying to follow the commentary on the homeward bound train unless a suitable bar is found after for more socialising....

I'll be at the Compasses, probably much earlier the 9pm, but just waiting for some imminent rain to clear ... or perhaps an opportunity to try out a new rain coat?
