Is this the day of the first motorised transfer back to MK?  Not sure of wind strength or direction?

No let-up from the mild SWerlies all week, according to the Met Office. Tuesday could be a tough day, with 23mph forecast.

Good luck Steve!

I see there's an FP post asking for a lift back from Norwich to MK.

Yes - it's to use tail winds which is sensible. However, a back of the Kit-Kat calculation says for this to work Steve needs to ride a minimum of 340km plus car transfer in 14 to 15 hours inclusive of stops whilst riding to leave him sufficiently time for sleeping, showering, dressing and eating at each end of the day.

Yes, LWaB, he can eat his post ride meal in the car, but it doesn't alter the need for sleep which I've allocated 6 hours which is very minimal.  He also has to do all that other stuff like dressing, showering, bike prep  etc, which given its winter the dressing takes longer.

Bottom line is I think the riding and car transfer can't take more than 15 hours in total to maximise recovery.

Which is why sleepin/showerin/shi ... in the "vehicle" would make a massive difference.

( I wonder if any of the other contenders have tried this? )

Is Steve being driven back to MK at the end of the ride?
Or is he being driven to the start after a night's sleep?

The two options have different benefits, in my mind.

Big thanks to Steve B. for driving Steve A. back to Milton Keynes last night, so that he wouldn't have to ride back into a 40-mph headwind!
