How does Fitbit calculate resting heart rate?
« on: 03 November, 2018, 05:53:51 pm »
I have started wearing a Fitbit thar my son no longer uses.  For no reason other than I can.  It's interesting in some ways as you can see spikes coresponing to activity throughout the day.  However I am puzzled by the figure it comes up with for resting heart rate.  It started off reasuringly low then steadily climbed, fell, settled and now is steadily climbing again.  What is interesting is that the figure for the current day can change up or down. It is now more than 10 beats higher than  the asleep rate.

How is resting heart rate measured?
Resting heart rate refers to the heart rate measured when you’re awake, calm, comfortable, and have not recently exerted yourself. We use your heart rate data from when you’re awake and asleep to estimate your resting heart rate.
