Gill and I were just riding back from my Mum's and we were gaining on a couple of young girls on their bikes. As they realised we were going to pass them they put a spurt on. For a little while they stayed ahead but eventually one of them fell back. The second one showed great spirit and held us off for another couple of hundred yards. As we eventually passed her we exchanged words and had a laugh about the whole thing. They were just great kids having fun on their bikes. What I found a little disturbing was the sophisticated way in which they were dressed and made up like they were ten years older than reality. (I would guess they were probably about thirteen or fourteen) I feel quite sorry for kids today, they seem to be under a lot of pressure to behave like adults in so many ways.
