d.

It's good but not quite the right answer

Cher - It's in his Kiss.

It's in his kiss - Linda Lewis.

Lewis - Can't wait another minute.

Can't wait another minute - Five Star.

Lewis was a girl trio comprising of Shirley Lewis, Dee Dee Lewis and Linda Lewis.
Can't wait another minute was a B-side to the single "If the Love fits" released in 1986 on RIVA records, and was covered as an A-side a little later by five star

Three acts, only one of them a group, had a UK chart hit in every year of the 70s. Name the group, and their first no1 UK chart hit. As an additional clue, one of their singles made the UK top ten in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Hello, it's my first time here, so I'm not sure what the rules are.

Don't look at this if it's cheating to Google a discography to check one's guess:

Wrong answer. I think google's cheating. Which is why I think questions should have answers that you either know or can work out, not ridiculously obscure things nobody would ever know.

Ah right.  I'll have to wait for another clue then.  It's a hard one!  I can think of solo artists who might qualify, but not a group.

Is that three different singles, or the same single three times?

Same single three times, hence "one of their singles."

All other guesses so far are wrong.

Ok, K, I'm going for a lie-down!  Incidentally I just saw your "Desert Island" choices.  The Sam Cooke ones are great - anything by Sam is great but I love especially the slide up into "born" in the first few bars of "A Change Is Gonna Come".  Do you like Otis?  I have to stand up even to mention his name.  Particular favourites are "These Arms Of Mine", "Mr Pitiful" and "Lover's Prayer".  He also does a good version of "A Change Is Gonna Come" but Sam's is gooder, as Otis would have said.

I am going to go back to Slade, whose first single that I remember was 'get down and get with it'. The reason I stick with them is simple: that bloody horrible Christmas single. Every bloody year.
