OK, another "what links" question but shouldn't be too taxing....

The Strokes
The Wallflowers
Wilson Phillips
Miley Cyrus
Norah Jones

I think Paul has it, but I don't know them all.

Strokes ?
Wallfowers - Jakob Dylan
Wilson Phillips - daughter of ?Brian Wilson of Beach Boys
Miley Cyrus - daughter of Billy Ray
Norah Jones - daughter of Ravi Shankar.

Yep, PaulF has it. Albert Hammond Jr of The Strokes is the son of... Albert Hammond, funnily enough.

I was trying to think of a few more obscure ones to throw you off the scent but didn't get very far.

Well the Hammond link was the one that I didn't know...

Another 'what links' I'm afraid :)

OK, since Smudge had a lucky punt earlier, I'll go for one.

Did they all feature Michael Stipe?  I know Hersh's Your Ghost did...

OK.  Possibly an easy one.

What is the link between Messrs Hodges, Peacock and Mathers, nominally?

Took me a while to think who Mathers might be, then I realised it's Eminem. From there it was a short step to remembering the name of his character in Eight Mile.

Crikey! Who'd have thought there could be more than one link from Chas & Dave to Eminem!

My Name is features a sample from  a Labi Siffre song I Got The on which C and D played

(all from memory of course)

Ah! Did they write it or just play on it? They played on loads of stuff in the 60s - including Telstar.

I think it'd be harsh to deprive Martin of the point, though Smudge asks a vital question.

'My Name Is', by Eminem (Marshall Bruce Mathers III) contains a sample of the Labi Siffre tune 'I Got The', on which two of the session musicians backing Labi's voice & piano were Chas Hodges & Dave Peacock, of the eponymous cockney geezer band.

So Martin, over to you...

I have to wonder what Labi Siffre, who has been out since the 1960s, thinks of Eminem's often deeply homophobic lyrics.
