Linky, pls...

Ladytron
Madness
The Sisters Of Mercy
Motorhead
Shakespear's Sister
Stiff Little Fingers
Death Cab For Cutie

Not difficult - you probably only need to have even heard of one or two of the bands to get the link.

Ladytron - Roxy Music
Madness - Prince Buster
The Sisters Of Mercy - Leonard Cohen
Motorhead - Hawkwind
Shakespear's Sister - Smiths?
Stiff Little Fingers -
Death Cab For Cutie - Bonzos

How curious that the one I didn't even know was a song is my favourite out of all of them.

And that I only got it cause someone mentioned DC4C recently and the origin of the name, when I haven't heard the band.

Ta.  I remembered & edited.  I can't lay claim to the SLF origin, though.

I'll check them out, thanks.

Just need to think of a Q.  I promise not as hard as the last one, though I don't promise not to mix genres. ;)

OK, ready to roll.

What links these bands (should be easy)?

Morris & The Minors
The Saddlemen
The High Numbers
The N'Betweens
The Automatics
Kilburn & The High Roads
The Shadettes

And which is the odd one out?

they were all bands who went on to enjoy success under a different name

The Automatics: not the Coventry Automatics aka The Specials?

If this were QI, you would be Allan Davies, and there would be a siren sounding.  Strolled right into the elephant trap, so you did.  Tony Hawks did indeed have a hit with 'Stutter Rap' by Morris Minor & The Majors.

Morris & The Minors - Madness
The Saddlemen - The Comets (of Bill Haley)
The High Numbers - The Who
The N'Betweens - Slade
The Automatics The Specials
Kilburn & The High Roads - Ian Dury and the Blockheads
The Shadettes - Nazareth

odd one out- Morris and the Minors still exist as a different act

OK, I'll give you that.  I was thinking of the Saddlemen being American and the others are all Brits, but your logic is impeccable.

I thought the Shadettes was going to fox anyone less of a Nazareth fan than me, but you astound me. :)

Over to you.

Wasn't it a funny shape - a triangle if I recall
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?

Having not FWSEd, did it go from the inside to the out, as it were (vinyl, not cassette, natch)?

no; it did end "loud and clear clear clear clear etc" but that was not a feature of the disc. The 1980 single "I am the Beat" by The Look does have an endless groove as you mention and plays "Beat (thump thump thump) Beat" ad infinitum.
