Edge 200 charger?
« on: 16 November, 2014, 07:04:31 pm »
I've mentioned my Edge 200 in a couple of topics and had very helpful replies.  Does anyone know it there is a charger that could be used on the bike to help it get out to 300 or 400k?  It can be charged via a USB lead, which I have.

Thanks

Peter

If you've got a dynamo hub there are various devices that give you charging options (B&M Luxos builds it into a light, USB-Werk and E-Werk are standalone), while if you haven't, add-on batteries are good and cheap. I've got a couple from Anker with different capacities, while others have been recommended here in posts passim.

Thanks for that.  I'll look into it!  Presumably I need to know what is compatible.  There is no info in the manual.

Any external battery with a USB output should be compatible (though you might - I don't know - want to check that its got a 1A supply not just 500mA): there have been a lot of posts here about power management. Some people give their GPS a quick boost at every control, some use external power from the start, so the GPS is still fully charged once the external battery is empty.
