This is very late notice, I know, but on 12th July I'll be collecting my Enigma frame from Enigma Cycles, near Polegate, East Sussex. Let's say it has been a long time coming. $:-\$

I will be getting the 07:47 from Victoria to Polegate, arriving 09:05, and (as my current Omega is not rideable) will be getting a lift from Jim Walker to the Enigma HQ (7 miles from Polegate station). They will then transfer all the existing kit on my current frame onto my new Enigma frame, and I will ride back home. That's the plan, anyway.

Would anyone like to join me for this eventful day - nice long ride and chance to check out some bike p*rn, and see a happy Peli with a new bling bike?

As Woolly's working, I'm planning to go alone.

I would have loved to have accompanied you on this fine jaunt, but we will be in Northern Climes (Ashton-under-Lyne it was actually) celebrating the 40th anniversary of Mrs. Wow being a bridesmaid whence we go on for a few days in ~~Wensley~~Swaledale.

Best of luck with the new frame! What was the story behind the Omega becoming unrideable? (I remember the trouble you had at the start, but didn't hear the followup.)

You could plan yourself a lovely ride taking in Ashdown Forest on your way back if you're prepared to do a slight westerly arc on the straight-line route (make for Crowborough, then NW). You could even work in a descent of Kidds Hill if you want to put it through its paces at 50mph+, but perhaps that's pushing it a bit on a newly-assembled bike...! Whatever route you choose have a good ride.

Anyone with useful advice as to a return route to London from Polegate on roads which don't carry vast amounts of traffic, is asked to step forward and state their case. Please.

Polegate, Hurstmoncieux, Brown bread Street, Penhurst, Robertsbridge [great cafe at railway station], Etchingham, Wadhurst, Lamberhurst, Brenchley [nice TDF pub], Paddock Wood, Five Oak Green, Godden Green, Hadlow, Plaxtol, Ivy Hatch, Stone Street [Padwell Arms good food], Seal to Otford and you all know it from there anyway
